Very clean and staff are super friendly

I want to make it very clear that this review is about the management and the facilities, not the staff. The staff deserve 10/10. The two Egyptian men who helped us were absolutely incredible. They went above and beyond, even helping us change a flat tire, and the chef made an amazing breakfast. Every employee we interacted with was kind, welcoming, and genuinely tried their best to make things right. They are not the problem. Unfortunately, the property itself is a completely different story. It has so much potential, but it feels abandoned and is not what is advertised online. The room we originally booked was not the one shown in the photos. We were moved to a dome instead, but it had an overwhelming chemical smell. We arrived very late after a long day and just wanted to sleep, hoping the smell would disappear by morning. It didn’t. On top of that, there was no hot water. The staff then moved us to another room because of the smell, but that room had reddish-colored water coming from the shower. We were moved yet again to a third room, which thankfully didn’t have the chemical smell, but the bathroom was poorly designed. The shower has no separation from the rest of the bathroom, so every time you shower, the entire bathroom floods, including around the toilet. Having to switch rooms four times during one stay is simply not acceptable. While the staff did everything they could to help us, they were constantly trying to fix problems that should never have existed in the first place. This property is not ready to host guests in its current condition. The management needs to invest in maintaining the facilities and ensure the accommodations match what is being advertised. It’s incredibly misleading, and the staff deserve better because they are doing everything they can with a property that is clearly not being managed properly. I truly appreciate every member of the staff for their kindness and effort, but based on the condition of the facilities and the repeated room issues, I cannot recommend staying here until significant improvements are made.

Rock Camp Petra looked too good to be true in the hotel photos but it actually IS that magical! The dome was comfortable and unique to stay in and the tub under the stars is something I’ll remember forever. Dinner and breakfast were absolutely phenomenal (the hummus was the best I’ve ever had) and there’s even a little hike on the property. Hands down though, what really makes this place special is the staff, so kind and welcoming, they made us feel at home. I would love to come back someday.
