Hotel Stunning view and beach , good location if you want to go to Koh Tao .

Very nice place with sustainable/eco-friendly concepts in mind. Nice quiet private beach right in front, and the villas are all surrounded by the lush green. The restaurant staffs were nice and very attentive. But we feel that certain aspects can be improved for better experience to match with the price tag. - There were ants crawling and dirts around jacuzzi. Security staff suspected that there could be nest underneath and offered to tell housekeeping to spray pesticide the next day. But we planned to relax at the room whole day, we didn’t like that idea for safety concern. So we decided to live with it and had to clear the ants ourselves every time before using the jacuzzi. The resort could have done better planning with regular pest control to avoid this incident. - Wifi not working - we reported this issue since check-in around 9pm and expected the follow-up. But the front desk staff didn’t take any action until being chased again after breakfast. So we only managed to use in-room wifi only in the afternoon the next day , and was told that it was due to squirrels biting off the cable. We can accept this kind of unexpected circumstance due to being close to nature, but we would have expected more proactive action to manage guests’ inconvenience and need not chase again. There was no offer to compensate anything for these 2 incidents. - The room is nice but still not very well thought through on the functions e.g. there are 2 chairs to sit by the balcony, but no table to put drinks. We had to put on the floor. There’s only 1 small trash bin in the bathroom, so when we chill out by the balcony, there was no bin for the trash. - Lack of clarity on the dry-clean charge - I accidentally stain the duvet and was prepared to pay for the cleaning or even replacement for the new set. The stain happened on the 2nd day evening, and after we came back from our snorkeling trip on the 3rd day, the stained pieces were taken off. So we thought they took it to try cleaning. Next morning we were at the breakfast area for long, and no staff mentioned anything to us. At checkout, we were presented with the bill quoted 2870 THB, which supposed to be cleaning fee + replacement cost in the event that the stain doesn’t come off. So we asked - what if we take the stained pieces back with us, the manager quoted 3500 THB. We chose to pay 3500 THB to get the items back (which my maid managed to clean off the stain anyway). I was not unhappy being charged, as I have pointed that I was prepared to pay. But I just didn’t like the fact that they didn’t want to say anything until check-out, it made us feel like they want to impose us not to discuss alternative or negotiate with the compensation of the inconveniences faced during the stay. We also didn’t understand why the amount was increased up to be 3500 THB for option2 to take back. The original quoted amount of 2870 THB already included the replacement cost anyway. So at least the charge should remain at the same amount or even be lesser because the resort didn’t need to send for cleaning.
