What a lovely experience. I was completely relaxed after a quick break. The staff is friendly an accommodating. the overall service and experience was one of a kind. I will strongly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at the Maslow Hotel Time Square from 30 January to 4 February and unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing, especially given the price point. On arrival, the reception experience was unfriendly and poorly handled. While checking in, I was told my booked room was a “low-class room” and was immediately pushed to upgrade at R350 per day, without any proper explanation of what the upgrade actually offered. I agreed, but the room I received was still poorly positioned and not front-facing, which made the additional cost feel unjustified on top of the ±R16,000 already paid. When I entered the room late that evening after travelling from Botswana, it was not properly prepared, condiments were missing and the room did not feel clean. I raised this the next morning and was assured it would be resolved. It wasn’t. This became a daily issue, requiring repeated trips to reception for basics such as teaspoons, water refills, and standard room amenities. On one occasion, I waited 45 minutes for these items to be delivered. This level of service is unacceptable for a hotel of this calibre. Breakfast was equally disappointing. Despite breakfast being included, a simple request for scrambled egg whites turned into a frustrating experience. The kitchen staff were unable to follow instructions and became short and rude when I tried to clarify. I eventually gave up and stopped using the hotel breakfast entirely, opting instead for a café across the road at R60 per day, which provided better service and food. I attempted to raise these concerns in person, but after being made to wait excessively, I left. I was told by a staff member to “just do a Google review, maybe someone will see it”, which was honestly shocking. For the price paid, the value perception, service standards, room preparation, and guest respect were far below expectations. I would not recommend this hotel and believe far better options are available nearby for the same or less money. A very unhappy guest.
