The Lobster

I cannot fault the staff at the Lobster they were absolutely exceptional. However I paid *** for 2 nights which for a room in a pub I believe was way overpriced. I have stayed in hotels in this country and Europe for much less with better facilities. We did have a very large room but you could see where the paint was chipped there was not a proper wardrobe just a sort of shelving unit with only 2 hangers, and there was a small desk fan which in this heatwave and no air conditioning was useless. The bedding had sheets that did not tuck in due to the size of the bed and the pillow shams that went underneath the pillowcases were very old and bobbly. The bathroom was small for the size of the room and the basin tiny. To be honest the huge room would benefit from a total re-design. Usually when we stay in hotels etc there is at least a bottles of water in the room and given the recent heat wave that would have been well received. The breakfast had a wide variety of choices and was very good and the staff were polite, attentive and well informed. I must state again that every single member of staff that we had inter-action with were friendly, helpful and very very polite a total credit to the management. Unfortunately the very high price will probably stop us from returning.
