The Kairaba is a lovely older hotel with the most beautiful grounds, tropical gardens that attract so many monkeys and are enjoyed by the resident peacocks too! The staff are all fantastic and can’t do enough for you and the Happy Hour band are wonderful too. Here you have the best of both worlds as you have so many choices of restaurants on your doorstep but you have so much space. The pool is great and you have access to the private beach for fab sunsets.

It is one of the first resorts in Banjul and still has a large infrastructure, plenty of green areas, a nice pool, and direct beach access. However, the property has clearly seen better days. Because the resort is quite large, it seems difficult to maintain properly, and some areas feel outdated and neglected.
The breakfast was very limited and felt a bit run-down, not matching the image of a resort experience. Staying there can be a way to save some money, but you should not expect a luxury stay.
I believe a small family with young children could still benefit from the hotel, especially because of the space, pool, and beach access, while keeping costs lower. Other than that, some guests may feel disappointed if they arrive expecting a higher-end resort experience.
