Ten To Go Hostel

I only had an overnight stay so I did not manage to enjoy the full facilities of the hostel. But the staff has been really great and easy to communicate with, and the facilities, although basic, are clean. The blanket could perhaps be a little warmer, and I had a creaky bed above my bunk so it was rather noisy with the roommate above.

スタッフのAndreaは、いつも笑顔で対応してくれました。チェックインの際の説明も英語が得意ではない私でもとてもわかりやすく説明してくれて、とても助かりました。また、彼女は共用部分のチェックをこまめにしており、気配りが素晴らしいなと思いました。Andrea、素晴らしいサポートをありがとう！ 全てのゲストのためにとても考え抜かれたホステルだと思います。 ドミトリーは14名いますが、みんながルールを守っていてとても静かでした。また、バスルームにはシャンプーやシャワージェルが備え付けられており、女性専用のシャワーブースもあります。いつも清潔に保たれていました。受付フロアには、ドリンクとクッキーも無料で置いてあり、水だけでなくコーヒーやティーがいつでも楽しめるのは有り難かったです。玄関口と宿泊フロアへの入り口と鍵がついており、セキュリティーもしっかりしているなと感じました。ドミトリー内は、自分の南京錠を使って管理しました。 総じてとてもおすすめです！

Extremely clean at all times, friendly & helpful staff, lots of things to do nearby, great coffee machine... I love this hostel & I'll stay here again in the future for sure. Thank you, Luis & team!

I recently stayed at Ten To Go Hostel and as a Black female solo traveller, I cannot safely recommend this hostel to other travellers of colour. I had an extremely unprofessional interaction with the manager, Louis Blanchard. His behaviour was genuinely concerning, aggressive and unacceptable. I very rarely write reviews, and I do not go out of my way to post negative feedback about establishments. This is extremely unfortunate because I booked this hostel based on its glowing reviews online and was genuinely excited to stay. After returning from a day’s excursion in the late night, I noticed some of my clothes were missing, including an expensive item I distinctly remembered placing in or on top of my suitcase. Following hostel instructions, I called the emergency number provided to guests. Instead of receiving support, I was met with rudeness, swearing, and hostility over the phone. It is important to note that in no way was I confrontational, rude, demanding, or entitled during my discussion with the manager that might have provoked such hostility. I was, however, very teary-eyed because my things had gone missing. At 3 a.m. the manager, Louis Blanchard, arrived, and my belongings were eventually found in another part of the room, far from my designated area. His behaviour in person was aggressive, which left me shaken and intimidated. I then tried to escalate the matter internally, contacting another number given to me by a front desk worker. The WhatsApp messages that followed — screenshots of which I am providing with this review — unfortunately demonstrate further unprofessional behaviour. In them, the manager accused me of forcing him to come at 3 a.m., and of lying about leaving at 7 a.m. to trick him into coming earlier. He also complained about his personal number being called. All of these claims are untrue. I never asked him to come at 3 a.m.; I genuinely intended to leave at 7 a.m., but after the incident I was so unsettled that I stayed on the phone with a family member late into the night, which caused me to oversleep. The number I called was the official emergency contact displayed at the front desk, which all guests are explicitly encouraged to use if an issue arises. Perhaps this gentleman was having a bad day, or something else was affecting him. I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt and apply nuance to situations. However, this behaviour was unacceptable and deeply concerning, and I only hope he receives the help and support he needs. I booked this hostel because of its strong reviews, but my own experience was very disappointing. As a solo Black female traveller, I am also concerned that prejudice or bias may have influenced how I was treated.
