If you want to escape, this is the perfect place. No electricity, no problem, it's nice to disconnect sometimes and just to enjoy the area. Very kind lady, very good service, we really enjoyed our stay.

I had a wonderful stay at this lodge. It is not far from Chiang Mai city, you can reach the nearest village by a local taxi and Fon, the host, can pick you up and take you to the accommodation, which is only a few minutes by car from the village. It is remote and very natural, so perfect if you want to escape city life. The facilities were clean and Fon is such a kind host, she always made sure that I had everything I needed. Every day she prepared fresh breakfast and dinner, asked me if I would need groceries and if I had plans for lunch. I got there without a vehicle, but I could just ask Fon if she would bring me to a place I’m interested in. She showed me around, taught me about the local Karen village, the culture and did a short hike with me to a breathtaking waterfall. She also brought me to an elephant sanctuary, where I was lucky to touch, feed and help bathing the elephants. Fon also brought me to a bamboo rafting place.
The accommodation is in the middle of the mountains and very calm but Fon also had a guitar, a little speaker and some card games there, so it is a perfect place to calm down in the middle of nature and still not be bored.
Also, I travelled solo as a woman and I felt very comfortable, since Fon is such a kind person and made sure I had everything I needed. I stayed there for three nights, which was perfect for me to recharge and not be distracted by city life.
I will come back and I definitely recommend!

This might be remote rustic for some travelers but it's exactly what I was looking for. Far enough removed to have seclusion and peaceful relaxation while only being a short drive to anything you might need or want to do. Lots of beautiful hiking and all sorts of things nearby to do or just hike the area read and recharge
