What a fantastic atmosphere—unbelievably affordable and instantly welcoming. A true hostel! I was here all of five minutes before extending my stay. The vibe is pure magic: social and friendly without ever feeling overwhelming. You’ll find connection when you want it, and solitude when you need it. Claire, the owner, is a traveler at heart—curious, kind, and full of great cultural tips and stories. She created this place to carry forward the best parts of her own travel experiences, and that passion shines through. And I’d be remiss not to mention her adorable doggie, Gali—sweet, affectionate, and honestly a highlight of the stay in her own right. 😂

I stayed in a queen room up on the third floor. The room was OK, brilliant to have my own room at a very reasonable price after staying in other hostel dormitories with snoring sick people! The location is perfect for exploring the old part of Suzhou and the staff there are really helpful and friendly. The only down side was the en suite toilet and shower stank of.... rotten cabbage maybe? The positives outweight the negative for me but if you're sensitive to stinky toilets, maybe look elsewhere!
