The Agonda website stated that check-in was at 2 p.m. I arrived at the hotel early, at 1:15 p.m., and asked for an early check-in. I was told that a room was ready, but it would cost $50.00 to check in early, and I could have a complimentary room with a balcony. I informed Jay, the manager, that I did not need a balcony, as I had an upcoming job interview, and my only concern was checking in to prepare for the interview.
Jay asked me to show him the website where it said 2 p.m., so I showed him, and he said, 'Well, the site is incorrect; it is 3:00 p.m.' I asked if he would honor the information, considering that was why I booked the hotel, due to the check-in time, and a room was already prepared. Jay rudely said no because check-in time is 3:00 p.m. Later, I found out that ownership had changed, and some information had not been updated.
Since they were speaking Hindi, I thought maybe, if my friend called in speaking Hindi, they may be more inclined to help me; however, she was unsuccessful. As we listened to the one-sided conversation, the lady at the desk informed her that it was extremely busy and nonstop, and not one person had come into the office or called the entire time we were there. Lastly, I spoke loudly across the office to my daughter, alluding that my husband was Indian, and that dad would be calling us too. Immediately after I made that comment, I was permitted to check in for free; it was a little after 2:00 p.m.
Lastly, my daughter and I attended a concert at Levi's Stadium. After the concert, there were congested rail train lines, and we hopped on the only orange line. Little did we know at the time that the trains heading towards our hotel had stopped for the night. Therefore, we ended up two stations away from Levi Stadium. Unfortunately, our phones were dead, and it was approaching midnight, so we flagged down a sheriff. The sheriff's officer called the hotel and asked if they could help a stranded guest by calling a taxi to return to their hotel, as their phones were dead. The hotel said, “No, if they want a cab, they will need to do it themselves to get back to the hotel.” The sheriff officer charged my phone a little, and the other officer called a cab, as it was already 12:30 a.m. No taxi showed up. Uber passed by and picked us up, and we got back at 1:30 a.m. The hotel has Horrible Customer Service, Was Not Courteous, and Lacks Kindness
