My wife and I needed a quick place to get some rest. Staff was very polite and facility was clean, and breakfast was decent.

First, not advertised as NOT having an elevator, which was hard with a 4 year old & luggage dragging it up 2 flights of stairs. Requested a NON smoking room, were given a room that reeked of cigarettes & had cigarette stains all over the bathroom counter & bath tub. The walls just smelled terrible. We DID get a new room that didn't smell like cigarettes but smelled musty. We got air fresheners from the DG which made that better. The carpet just felt gross. While doing a "little personal inspection" we found old shriveled up french fries behind a chair, Albuterol things behind the side table someone had accidentally dropped, & candy wrappers behind the bed. There was people's hair all in the bathroom on the floor & on the side of the bath tub. The surface areas were not clean & there was more hair left on one of the side tables. It was obvious that housekeeping just skims over & not actually cleans. The bed was really uncomfortable - we stayed 2 nights & have been gone for about an hour & a half now & my hip is still hurting 😔. The pillows were small & flat, there was 4 & we brought one from home so we made due, but it wasn't pleasant. Just really praying that the sheets we slept in had been washed.... The TV did have Netflix that we signed into which was good. The shower head was yuck looking, needed to be cleaned & the water pressure was pretty poor, but it was a shower & served it's purpose. The gentleman that worked the desk was very helpful & very polite when I told him about our room smelling like cigarettes he was very very nice. This morning when we went for breakfast in the breakfast room this woman was not very polite, told us the juice machine was out of order (although we had literally just used it) she wanted to clean it before "breakfast" was over. There wasn't a scoop for the ice machine.... & Using the bucket was kinda hard so that was a little gross but I tried not to think about that. We did get asked if we needed anything fresh or cleaned by the housekeeper which was nice. Would not recommend this hotel nor would I plan to stay here again. It served it's purpose but it was not a pleasant. I'm not sure how it had an 8 star rating. It was very deceiving. I worked in housekeeping for a short time & I never would have left a room for a guest the way that it was left for us.
