    Sun Siyam did meet our expectations, specifically by local standards, so I will start with the positives and continue with the areas of improvement or where expectations fall short. First off, the location is beautiful if you're looking for true peace and quiet. The sandy beach is almost Maldived-like, groomed regularly to ensure fine quality. The cozy property is constructed with beautiful island wooden architecture, and the rooms and spacious and well-appointed. The bathroom is huge, the biggest I've ever seen; it has two sinks and it is open-air except for the shower room and the toilet. The bed and pillows are very comfortable so sleep quality is superb. There's plenty of room for all your stuff and lighting is adequate with lots of plugs. The provided bathrobe and slippers are excellent. You have a choice to get a small plunge pool in your bathroom in case you'd like that, so ask for it. The welcome at reception was quite unique, as you are greeted with a small blessing ceremony by friendly staff, all of whom are professional and well trained. The hotel area is small but has beautiful landscape, is clean and well-maintained. Our main purpose for choosing Sun Siyam Pasikudah was its tennis court and luckily we weren't disappointed. The court is in good condition and the only downside was the lighting which should really be improved as it's impossible to play with those existing lights after it starts getting dark. Regarding other facilities, there's a good billiards table and a gym for those who seek that. Otherwise it's mostly about relaxing by the beach or the beautiful small pool. Sun loungers are very comfortable and most have an umbrella. Do expect to be annoyed by many crows though unfortunately... The food is good enough and the variety is adequate. You are offered one type of fresh juice in the morning and a couple of other non-fresh juice or drink options in the buffet. Specialty drinks such as cold coffee or lattes are offered free of charge at breakfast, which is good but also expected for the price paid. The areas of improvement would be the food quality, for instance one shouldn't expect to always get bones in small cooked pieces of chicken unfortunately, and again compared to other upscale hotels in Sri Labka, Sun Siyam could do better. But generally speaking, you will always find something tasty. One big disappointment is the actual sea facing the hotel because it's REALLY shallow, so you can only dip in it and unfortunately it's very warm waters, the warmest we've experienced anywhere worldwide (we've been around). The positive point is that the waters are very calm since the area is sheltered with a man-made rock barrage. There's no shower by the beach area though, so you have to walk close-by to the pool where you will find one shower only. The sea facing next-door Amaya where we stayed before moving to Sun Siyam is much better, although the water is obviously warm as well but you get to swim much further away from the shore so you do get cooler currents. Forget about snorkeling if you expect any of that, especially if you've snorkeled anywhere else such as in the Red Sea or the Maldives.. In sum, I do recommend Sun Siyam as long as you know what you're signing up for. We'd love to return again.

    Had a wonderful stay at Sun Siyam Pasikudah. The location is beautiful and very peaceful, perfect for relaxation. We received a warm welcome and even enjoyed a complimentary head and shoulder massage.Rooms were clean and well maintained, and the pool, beach view, and outdoor setup were great. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and it was nice to see the management checking in on guests. Food was delicious too. Definitely added to our favorite places bucket!

    We had a relaxing 5 day stay at the resort. The surroundings are beautiful, the food is fantastic and with plenty choice. The staff was extraordinary and when needed they took us to the nearest doctor. All in all, a wonderful stay and we could not recommend it more.

    I will review the hotel from the point of entry. 1. There was no one to greet us or wish for the new year or collect baggage. We parked and got down and entered the reception. She was very unbothered and non of the front desk staff were bothered. 2. Unaware of the agoda booking, kept questioning on it until we entered the room. 3. Hence they didn't have a room ready. But greatful for the upgrade. The men were still setting up the room as we entered. 4. TV wasn't working waited an hour for someone to fix it. Ticks all over the room which was really horrible as we have small kids and a baby. Also the entrance hotel lobby area cushions were filthy. 5. The in room dining food wasn't upto standard. Beautiful breakwater beach with a swing and dining in the sea (floating setting), The pool is great! And exterior and interior of the hotel are beautiful.
