Negative- Upon arrival, had a long wait before being assisted and then had to walk up 3 flights of stairs with my luggage as lift was out of service. Room air con was not working correctly as it was not oscillating cool air. Positive: location is amazing next to a mall. Some staff are helpful and friendly. Convenience of smoking rooms and areas available.

​Pros: Excellent reception and breakfast staff, spotlessly clean room, peaceful stay. Cons: Unprofessional, unwelcoming, and intimidating security encounter at the main entrance. ​I recently stayed at the Hotel and had a experience that was largely wonderful inside the property, but unfortunately tarnished right at the entrance gate. ​Prior to arriving, I phoned reception to advise that we would be arriving late around 5:30 PM. The phone agent was warm, professional, and assured us it was no issue at all. When we checked in, the indoor hotel and restaurant staff were absolutely amazing, polite, and attentive. Our room was clean, fresh, and provided a peaceful night’s rest, and the breakfast service the following morning was top-tier. ​Unfortunately, our very first impression at the security boom gate on Friday afternoon left a very bitter taste. As a mother traveling with my mother and my two young children, the security guard on duty approached our vehicle in an intimidating manner. Rather than greeting us professionally in a universal language like English, he immediately addressed me in Zulu and continued speaking in Zulu throughout the interaction, expecting me to respond and follow instructions without bothering to check what language I spoke. While I can understand some Zulu, assuming a guest's language and forcing the interaction in that manner felt dismissive, unprofessional, and culturally tone-deaf. ​Security personnel are the very first point of contact for guests entering the property, and they set the tone for the entire stay. While the hotel team inside excels at hospitality, management needs to address the decorum, customer service standards, and communication etiquette of the front-gate security team to ensure guests feel safe and welcomed from the moment they drive in.

Good convenient location but first room spelt like urine and our request to change rooms was efficiently dealt with. Second room was very dusty and we couldn’t leave the window open because it was cold. I struggled to sleep and my partner’s asthma was triggered. We both had a poor night’s sleep. Breakfast was good.
