Star Inn Motel

Stayed for the weekend as an easy/cheap booking. Was plenty satisfied with my stay and I’m sure I’ll be back again in the future.

This was a perfect fit so when plans changed and I needed to extend I didn’t hesitate extended here. I don’t know if you’re allowed to use names on this review site, but the woman that helped me at my check in and then at my extension, extremely, extremely nice. She was quick to process my reservation and was just overall very kind. I found this motel because I was looking for proximity to the harbor and wasn’t triple digit room rates. I wasn’t looking for room service, nor plush slippers. I was looking for something that was clean, had a good bed, internet access, hot water, an ac, a fridge and a microwave. This is a motel, but the woman that helped me check in I can tell she runs a very tight shop. There have been no gatherings in the parking lot, no traffic coming in and going the sounds of doors opening and shutting which always have the tendencies to sound as if they’re slamming closed which none of that was happening here. The property is obviously old but not because of decaying paint and broken bits and pieces everywhere. The complete opposite the whole place has a newer paint outside but not done hastily or with out care it’s in really good shape. It’s just an old building is all. The property has beauty marks and age spots but it is and feels clean. The rooms are circulated with fresh air when not occupied under a reservation. I don’t mean that they come in and open your windows when you go out rather unbooked rooms windows are left to circulate fresh air. It’s surprisingly a massive game changer. The bathrooms all I believe have been done fairly recently as well as the floors. The downstairs room I was and am in is that tile that looks like wood planks. It is very. Clean. Very clean. The walls the tops of the doors, the window and window seals, the curtains, the bath/shower curtain, the sink the shower the toilet the bed the sheets the big extra blanket they all smell and look and feel very clean. The ac units are soak units. They’re old sure that just means they have love markings. They are supper clean. This is the first time I have used a hotel or motels ac and not gotten completely congested. Someone is cleaning these and often. The shower water pressure is amazin and the water gets hot. Decent size tvs with a decent amount of channels. Internet was working well for me with great download speeds. There are two outlets one either side of the bed with dimming switches for flush mounted dimmable lights and plug for charging. A table with two chairs and that’s it. No telephone, nothing else. This really is a very well kept up motel I give it the 4 star in the facilities because it is just and older building but you’re also not paying for 5 star. The location is okay it’s the only real downside but it’s not horrible. It’s on newports divided part where it’s one way traffic in rather side. It just means there’s an extra 5 min u turn to get into Newport if you’re driving. The value for the money it seems this place has a wild j The cleanliness is hands down more clean that’s some big name brand hotels I have stayed in. The towels were folded in the bathroom andn hung in the holding rods more crisp and with more care than those other guys too. Truly a very good experience and super clean
