    The place is nice, it has communal area and free wine and sake which was awesome. However, the biggest problem is that the room doesn't have A/C in summer. Couple with the super firm mattress I couldn't sleep at all, and this is only early May I cannot imagine what its like in summer. I get it that this is most cater to the ski crowd so its probablly fine in winter. I wont recommended it unless you're planning to stay in winter time.

    We had the large family room, with 2 bedrooms, and truly had a wonderful stay at Hakuba Funny Hours. The only challenge was locating the place with our driver from the station, but other than that, it was a sensational place to stay, to eat and enjoy all the amenities and extra perks. There was a limited shuttle out the front of our accommodation, which suited us well for shuttle to Iwatake a few days in a row. The private onsen is a very short walk away and was an extra perk we used. My husband also enjoyed the hot stones. Our kids enjoyed the extra space in the lounge room and all the toys was a nice touch. The staff here were super helpful and friendly. Thanks for a great stay.

    A wonderful clean and comfortable homey retreat close to the Iwatake snow resort. Nice getaway from busier areas like Happo-One or Hakuba town, if you don't mind the 10-min drive/shuttle. The friendly and English-speaking staff was very helpful. Really enjoyed the village vibe (a dozen restos, stalls, bars nearby) and especially the two bath houses for complementary use - a treat after a day on the slopes.

    In Hakuba, location is everything and this is where this place falls down. While it is 1.4km from Iwataka (and it is walkable with gear) the reality is shuttle access is very poor which I promise, is a deal breaker as uber/taxis are VERY hard to come by. Lack of onsite dining options and an onsen scheduling system which renders it unusable by most means it’s tough for me to recommend. Upsides: it’s 5m walk from 7/11 and a couple of restaurants however this book out very easy so ide recommend a booking if you can wrangle enough Japanese to make it happen. The staff were great, and there is an onsite laundry which is helpful. Rooms are small and alittle awkward and there are steps everywhere.
