Overall a lovely stay. The accommodation feels dated. Stayed in the King Spa room and didn't love the set up of the shower over the spa bath combination without shower screen. My husband had hip replacement surgery earlier this year and was just ok to get in and out of the shower lifting leg over the spa bath. Also it took dining at Spicers Guesthouse (their other property) to discover that you can get a discount at a range of nearby wineries when wine tasting. This was not promoted well at Spicers Vineyards which we gave feedback to reception on as would have made a difference in savings.

This hotel is understaffed and a forgotten cousin of their cheaper hotel in the hunter valley.
When we arrived at 10pm, there was no staff to check us in and the hotel was locked. We were left in the rain and had to call the emergency number. They organised a shuttle to their sister hotel for dinner but the shuttle arrived 25 minutes late. The only staff member was very rude when she informed us that the breakfast we paid $120 for was just a bread basket delivered to the room the night before because their restaurant was being refurbished.
Waste of money. Should have stayed at their cheaper hotel. Definitely not 5 star. Stay elsewhere.

My husband had a 1 night stay at Spicers Vineyard Estate and we could not fault it! We stayed in a Luxury Spa Suite… I wanted a bath and hubby wanted a fire… tick and tick! Comfortable bed and linen, amazing bathroom, spacious and well appointed room. Gorgeous verandah off our room. Such a quiet and calm Estate with lovely staff. We will be back!
