The unit itself was surprisingly spacious for a studio and comfortably accommodated our group of four. It was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with complete household essentials, which made our stay very convenient since we were able to cook and settle in comfortably.
That said, the overall experience was affected by communication and coordination issues. The host or property manager was not very responsive through text, and replies via Agoda also took quite some time. The biggest issue happened during check-in. The Agoda listing location and photos clearly matched the property at Taft East Gate, but upon arrival, the host insisted the booking was for Horizons 101 instead. This created unnecessary confusion and made the check-in process stressful and inconvenient. Thankfully, we were still accommodated in the end, but the situation could have been handled much more smoothly.
Another disappointing experience was with the condo staff, particularly around the pool area. My nanny and daughter were repeatedly questioned regarding registration documents despite us already completing registration at the lobby during check-in. The staff kept looking for a physical copy that my nanny understandably did not have, saying our registration was “not there.” It felt uncomfortable and unnecessary for paying guests. Unfortunately, this is sometimes a downside of staying in privately managed condo units, where guests may not receive the same level of hospitality as in hotels.
Parking was also quite expensive at PHP 500 per night.
Overall, the property itself is clean, spacious, and offers good value for families or small groups. With better communication, clearer coordination, and a more welcoming guest experience from the staff, this place would have been an excellent stay.
