Centrally located within a 5-10 minute walk of Termini with many other hotels located in the immediate vicinity. I paid in advance online via Agoda, but there was a good deal of confusion at check from the man running the place about my actually having a reservation at that location. Eventually we got things sorted out but it was stressful for a few minutes after I had already been given the keys to my room and unpacked my bags only to be told he thought I was supposed to be staying at a different address 10 minutes away. But, we resolved things and I was able to convince him my only reservation was valid and for this specific room and address. It should be stated I had to book this relatively last minute, maybe 18 hours prior given that my travel plans were in flux up until the last moment due to inclement weather from a major storm. Usually I am able to try something a bit more comfortable and special for this or a significantly less price. Internet worked well. The two shared bathrooms were clean, apart from other guests sometimes splashing water on the floor after a shower. There was almost always a bathroom available for use with no wait. Room was quiet enough and ambient noise from the occupants in the rooms next to me or from outside in the courtyard was minimal. Ceiling fan was very powerful, and I only needed to use it once or twice for a few minutes as the room was otherwise well enough ventilated. Tinted window above the door did let in light into the room from the common area during the night, but if you have a mask or don’t have light sensitivity that should be fine. The other ions had no such window. There were infortunately a few random types of men’s hairs on the bed sheets when I arrived which was admittedly a bit off putting, but the smell of fresh bleach on the sheets and the pillowcase convinced me they were clean and must just not have been removed following washing. Blanket was very thin (almost airline thin), but then again, it was just enough to get by in late September. Room furnishings were very sparse, but the essentials ( a night table, a desk with chair, and an armoire) were present. Armoire had only a single sad metal wire hanging in it, so for the four days I stayed there I added a bunch of additional higher quality shirt hangers that a nearby men’s store was getting rid of because they had too many. Hopefully they remain for the next guest to enjoy using for hanging up clothes. There was a small fridge with freezer in the hallway, along with an electric kettle, some glasses and utensils for common use. The standout thing about this accommodation (apart from the highly convenient location) was in fact the antique frescoed ceiling, which was actually a beautiful surprise to discover upon lying down in bed the first night. The owners would do well to publicize this, as it would certainly be a selling point for one who appreciates a certain antique and classical aesthetic.
