Hostels, never mind hotels are getting more & more expensive these days. There wasn't much in Helsinki for less than €100 on the night I stayed. I got this on agoda for €39. The location is off putting but easily accessible on the 55 bus from the train station. Crucially you get your own room - no bunks. The checking in is more like an airbnb but without keys. You use the code your emailed for front door of building, access to the door on floor 11 and also your room. Keep your on your person at all times because if you forget the code your fucked as there is absolutely no staff in the hostel or even at the building reception. It's functional, does the job, has a kitchen with 2 microwaves and K mart maybe 40 metres from the front door.

The hostel has absolutely no reception or personnel. It is also very hard to find the hostel as its on the 11th floor of an office building, with no signage. The rooms are very warm (even in January) with no way to turn it down, and the kitchen is badly equipped. However, it is good for a short stay - the bathroom and showers are very clean and the location is very close to the centre

I stay here for 4 nights.
No receptionist.
One need to do the check-in by oneself, just need to read and follow the direction carefully, since the accomodation is located in a building and has no signage outside.
There is a microwave and a fridge inside the room.
I recommend this hotel for a fellow budget traveler. 😊
