Siesta Villa

Location - conveniently located at E. Jindabyne. One of the first accommodations you can drive to heading from Canberra. Just a scenic 25 min drive to the ski tube, with all the essential supply stops along the way to and from skiing. You can choose from easy take outs to budget saving groceries. Accommodation: our room sleeps up to 4. Bunk bed & King /twin was very comfortable and clean. Basic, but included a few extras such as a microwave, kettle a set of picnic style plates, bowls, metal cutlery & mugs (plus tea & coffee) Bathroom was clean, basic with hot running water. Parking: easy, and free. A bay outside our downstairs room. Breakfast: continental buffet style, along with served hot options (scrambled eggs, beans, potato gems, bacon, and noodles). It was the same every day, but always served by lovely staff. A great way to start a cold morning and a long day of ahead. Facilities: there is a drying room, but unfortunately it did not do as much drying as we had hoped. However, we made do with our room which had a clothes rack and good a/c for heat. On first impressions the external building and surrounds do look a bit run down, and they could do with clearer up some areas that are in sight of guests and main entry ways. However, the relaxed vibe/lodge feels soon made up for what seemed to be a popular and well patronaged site. I think in warmer months there could definitely be some potential with outside decking and intimate bench/booths with great views that are unspoilt from development. There is a communal games area and the dining area is very big and spacious! Our son recommended this venue after staying for a school skiing trip. We stayed there at the same time as another school rolled in. But to our delight and surprise there was not an issue with such a large group. We were very impressed with the organising of daily movements, hardly any sound or disruption to our couples getaway.

Location is very beautiful. But the Motel is rundown. There was no hot running water as their heater broke. They had called the plumber but it a took a while to repair. Breakfast is good. Dinner the stone grill is very good. And the sticky pudding was tasty. But overall stay was just about ok.

Great little place for a nice get away. Friendly staff and a homely atmosphere. Great stay for a snow get away.

Family rooms are on the second floor (so we were told) Would have been great if they were on the bottom floor with access to the playground for the young kids. Bathroom was filthy, had to clean it ourselves. Location was ok, on the other side of Jindy. Very expensive in the winter, expected though. Has restaurant and Bar onsite which is very handy. Buffet breakfast was fantastic and included in the cost. Staff were lovely to deal with.
