Nobody warned us about the actual situation at the resort before our arrival. We paid a relatively high price compared with other similar accommodations in the area, and only after arriving did we discover that the resort was undergoing extensive renovation work. The gym was unavailable, there was construction sheeting in several areas, and some parts of the resort were restricted due to the ongoing work. The worst part was the noise. Workers started drilling into the walls early in the morning, making it very difficult to sleep and properly enjoy our vacation. We also experienced electrical problems a couple of times during our stay. On the positive side, the staff were very kind, friendly, and always willing to help. The location is also excellent. Unfortunately, these positive aspects were not enough to justify the price we paid considering the condition of the resort and the inconvenience caused by the renovation. Renovations are understandable. Hotels need maintenance and improvements from time to time. What is not acceptable is failing to clearly inform guests before they book or before they arrive. Had we known about the construction work, the unavailable facilities, and the expected noise, we could have made an informed decision about whether to stay there or choose another resort. So the main question remains: Why did management not warn us about the ongoing renovation before our arrival? For the price we paid, we expected transparency and the opportunity to know exactly what we were paying for.
