    For context, I booked this hotel for my first trip to Japan, trying to spend as sparingly as possible. This seemed to be the best choice in terms of location, price, and reviews. First and foremost, the staff was respectful, kind, and extremely helpful. They have good English speaking staff if that is a concern, and walked us through check-in, bag forwarding, and check-out smoothly. The room was very, very small, so it was a bit difficult to deal with suitcases sometimes—not a huge issue, but a consideration. The bathroom was quite old, and there was pretty bad mold in the shower which was a disappointment. The cleaning schedule was good, and all of the housekeepers were kind and acknowledged us every time we would pass by which was refreshing. On floor 2, the hotel has 3 drink vending machines along with an ice cream vending machine, 2 washer/dryer combos, and a lounge area. The vending machines were used quite a lot throughout our stay, making grabbing water or something to accompany a late night snack very convenient. The washer/dryer situation was a mess, although it could have been partial user error. It didn't fully dry my clothes, nor did it dispense soap in the one I happened to use. The other person travelling with me used the other machine and their clothes smelled fine, mine on the other hand, were terrible. The location of the hotel is amazing though. It's about a 7 minute walk from the hotel to Shinigawa station, which services much of the Tokyo area. It's also a short walk to 7-11 and other local restaurants. Ultimately, we didn't leave feeling like it was a terrible stay or that it ruined our experience. As long as we could sleep in peace and shower, we were pretty much good to go. I think that the cleanliness is the major gripe I had, and is the only thing that would turn me away from this hotel in the future.

    Decent business hotel, quite close to Shinagawa station. But it is on the hill, quite challenging going up if you have suitcases

    I was not impressed with the room that I stayed at in this hotel. It's possible it was just my room, but here are a few things this hotel needs to update: - The bathroom needs an exhaust fan. Without it, there's mold all over the tiles and the grout. I had to ask the front desk to send someone to wipe the mold off. - The A/C needs an upgrade. It's uses a switch that looks like it was from the 80's that had no temperature control and it wasn't cold enough for the summer heat. - The room needs a dehumidifier since it felt damp. Other than that, the location is conveniently located close to the JR trains and the staff are nice.
