    The room was clean, quiet and spacious. It is an older building so it’s basic but had lots of plugins which we needed. It was great for us and we would stay there again.

    I rented a room at Shilo in because I went to Salem for a medical appointment. My 2 little dogs accompanied me. Everything inside and out of this hotel was pretty dirty. There is nothing outdoors to make the hotel welcoming or attractive. Major construction was going on and it was noisy and messy. Three good things were that the room was spacious, the downstairs entrance area had some pretty chandeliers and sconce lights, and the location was good. My little dogs are good and don't do any damage. Next time I will go somewhere that doesn't want $20 a night to have dogs. The capeted floor in my room was filthy with dirt and there were stains and old dog urine in it. The laminate floors were very dirty too. The TV screen needed a cleaning badly. Outdoors was dirty and unkempt too. They advertised having a small breakfast available, but I never saw a sign of any. I think it would be better for this hotel to close down during renovations. The state of this lodging is going to cause some very poor reviews. They may lose more money trying to keep it open. I know thatI wouldn't return even if the rooms cost ***.
