We enjoyed our stay tremendously. The breakfast was simply outstanding! There was a hotel-wide glitch with the TV's but that was looked after reasonably quickly. In terms of areas for improvement, I would suggest that the hotel make a minor investment in upgrading the bikes that were made available to us. With the bike/walking paths so close by, we were looking forward to doing a little riding but the bikes were definitely below expectations. The gears don't work well and there wasn't a small enough gear to even make it over a small bridge (we had to walk them over). These were clunker bikes. We were also celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and I had made the reservations desk aware of this. Where we were treated to a complimentary bottle of wine in Santorini and received a very cute message on our room mirror (with a few snacks) in Barcelona but this hotel did nothing. Sometimes small things matter, is my only point about that.

Check in at reception with female staff warm smile and greeting, set the mood for a good stay. Room is on high floor, ample size with unobstructed view. Bed was soft and comfortable. Toilet looks classy. Nespresso provided. Walking distance from train station. Nearby river good for a stroll.

We had a mixed experience during our stay. On the positive side, the breakfast was excellent with a great selection, and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming—particularly the bar team and breakfast team, who really stood out for their service.
However, there were some significant downsides. The hotel was uncomfortably hot throughout our stay, with no air conditioning. When we raised this with reception, we were told it was controlled by head office and couldn’t be adjusted, which was frustrating. The gym was also too hot to use, which was disappointing as it was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel.
We were also concerned about the surrounding area. Unfortunately, there were a couple of incidents during our stay, including someone in our group having a flick knife pulled on them, and on another night several cars had their windows smashed.
Overall, while the staff and breakfast were great, the issues with temperature and the local environment made the stay less enjoyable than we had hoped.
