Sand Rose Beach Resort

Highly recommend

Breakfast was good, room was clean. It's close to Claytons and the walk to the beach is very close. Nice location and good drinks.

I always like staying here. Its my hotel of choice cause of location, However the beds need updating, past two stays we had booked 2 double rooms and mattress are very uncomfortable and too hard to get a good night's rest

We had 2 separate reservations to here last week. They were pretty paid ahead of time. Fist of all , they kept putting us off when we were trying to try to check in early. We were told that we could possibly after 12:30 to call back . several hours and calls later we're told you can't check in before 4:00. So we finally go to try to check in and the room still wasn't ready. They did tell us we could pre-check in and go use their facilities like the pool and the deck if we wanted to while we waited. So we get our stuff and go out to the pool where we see a big sign that says you cannot eat or drink out there unless you purchase it from their restaurant that is attached. So I went back to the desk to ask about this because we had snacks and drinks with us. There's no way around this, and they really don't care if it bothers you. So then we had to just go wait at the beach. Finally when I was able to try to check in I complained so much about all of this that they offered us a different room that was actually ready. But out of the blue they told me I had a balance of $80, mind you I had already prepaid. So then I ask them why, and they said it was for a resort fee and parking for the stay. Which apparently is not included in your online reservation. Be careful! I was very upset about this. Then we get to our room which was on 3rd floor room ***, and the next morning starting at 7:00 in the morning all you are going to hear is people moving their chairs around upstairs at the breakfast which is on the 4th floor right above our room. I would not recommend ever staying on this side of the third floor or this is all you will hear for 3 hours, every day. Then on the last day of our stay which was a separate reservation I get a call saying I need to come down and sign and pay another resort/parking fee for that extra day. So on top of the fact of all of this that has went on , they only had one working elevator which was constantly busy to where you would have to wait every single time. The floors are always wet from people coming in from the pool. The breakfast tasted nasty like powdered eggs and weird looking beans and sausage links. Resort fees, and not caring staff.. I don't honestly think we will ever stay there again. Their deck that overlooked the water and had great beach access with the only good thing about it. But the problem is you can't even sit on the deck and drink anything that you didn't buy from the attached restaurant. So the whole week we were there hardly anybody was even sitting on it..
