Samfi Gardens

This hotel must have the best view of all of Soufriere, just for you to enjoy from your balconny. This is of course only possible because it is uphill, quite a bit out of town. Without your own transport, you can get an infrequent minibus ride into town, but minibusses from town continuing towards Castries will be full. No dinner’s served on site. You can climb to the Indian/Creole fusion Treetop restaurant (which has similar nice views but is overpriced and has an annoying pusher for alcoholic cocktails). Your escape could be to buy some instant noodles at the small shop at the Samfi hotel and prepare them up in your hotelroom’s kitchen.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Samfi Gardens. The staff were all helpful and very welcoming. The views could not be beat!

My husband and I stayed here for 4 days at the beginning of July 2024. The Resort itself is up a hill off of the main road. It's about a 10 or 15 minute car ride down to Soufriere. If you're able to walk downhill for about 45 minutes you can walk down to sue free but you definitely would not want to walk back up. The space itself is very quiet and beautiful with very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in unit 3 which has a beautiful view of the pitons and surrounding area. The room was quite large with a small kitchen and a bathroom, as well as a large and comfortable bed. The bed was firm but not springy, like many of the other beds in St lucia. It was actually comfortable to sleep on as a side sleeper. One downside of our unit was that all of the windows are frosted so you can't actually see outside unless you open the windows or door. The units also all have little private patios, ours had a table and two chairs, which we enjoyed sitting at for breakfast. There are tons of mango trees around so you get fresh mango everyday. The pool is small but clean and comfortable, it has a beautiful view as well. This Resort is about an hour, maybe a little more, from the UVF vieux fort airport. We got a taxi from here to the airport for 75 US dollars by booking something online. The taxi ride from Rodney Bay was about an hour and a half and cost us 80 US dollars. If you are looking for a quiet, remote place to stay with beautiful views, and you rent a car or don't mind hiring a taxi or taking the local minibuses each time you want to leave, this is a great place to stay. There are also two restaurants within walking distance, the Beacon Restaurant which has a buffet for about 18 US dollars, or the Tree Top restaurant which is about $70 US per person and serves delicious Indian-caribbean Fusion cuisine. If you decide to stay in Soufriere this is a great place! PS the resort also has a small little snack shop with items like chips and cookies, bottled drinks, sodas, beer, and some package foods like rice and peanut butter and tuna fish, and some toiletries and things like that if you get caught in a pinch.
