I stayed here because hotels in chishang were booked up and I was headed down on a road trip. Staying somewhere with hot springs was appealing. The price for what you get in the room is a little high (it's older and a bit run down) but staying for the hot springs is worth it. The hotel is rustic and in nature which is nice although some updates would help it out. It was very quiet and when we opened the window we could hear crickets and frogs which was very nice. The hot springs was excellent, my skin felt very soft the next day. There is a bathtub in the room and you can get hot springs water in the bath. We had to park up a hill which was slippery to walk down, parking close to the door is limited. Make sure to eat before or bring a snack as there's nothing close to the hotel, you have to drive back into town. Breakfast was unexpected included and was very good. The view from the patio/eating area was very nice. I would definitely stay here for the hot springs but don't expect too much from the room for the price you pay.

As one of the oldest hot spring hotels in the Rueisuei area, built by the Japanese around 1921, the hotel is surprisingly well-maintained and provides a comfortable authenticity that I thoroughly enjoyed. The hot springs are relatively simple but conveniently located just outside your room, which is nice. Breakfast is also fairly straightforward and is served on the porch overlooking the Longitudinal Valley and Weha terrace, offering one of the best views on the East Coast. This family-run hot spring, during my stay, shared their Lunar New Year dinner—a wonderful surprise.
