Royal Harbour Hotel

Despite the room being very small, the hotel was lovely and ideally suited for the waterfront. I would have preferred an earlier check in time and a later check out time in line with the general practices at other hotels. (4pm check in and 10 am check out)

Couldn’t fault it! So friendly and clean with added little touches to make it even better!

Stayed here while visiting relatives, Very polite host who greeted you and showed you how to gain entry out of hours. extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom nice and clean. We were up three flights of stairs but managed them fine. Only two coat hangers in the wardrobe though, asked for more but never materialised. On the whole nice place and would stay again.

"Welcome" at 4.15 via window, although I was seen by interphone for at least 40 minutes IN THE RAIN on the main entrance. As 80 years old I can described the treatment I received as sadistic. Those who run this house are arrogant mercenaries. Room was the size of wardtobe, with permanently blocked shower base, small sink and not very well functioning smelly toilet. I never dump anything anywhere else but bin as they could find out. But my coffee cup that was left by mistake at the reception was not brought up to me. That was the only thing I had force to ask for later. "The room" full of junk on walls, shelf, under bed, was so dusty I got allergic feat. Cleaning it spent almost whole roll of toilet paper. Kettle was filthy as well, so not used. At night with curtains on there was permanent illumination. Next day the house was empty and 2 customers told me similar story to mine. To discuss all this at any time would have been only additionaly stressful on top of bleeding on my nose from allergy to dust especially in hot weather. Anyway havent seen but one cleaner who helped me to unlock room key. Claustrophobic experenice is not only in the room size, insecure lock, tonnes of bad picture and other other framed articles, carpets etc...but also in panic induced messages about fire safety. Plastic joke of the shower works sporadically and one can get burned. THERE IS NO BREAKFAST. Pillows are also full of dusty feathers. Not a single small bottle of water or shampoo. No fridge. Basically robbery. Not for those without car, who cannot walk up the hill or stairs. And certainly not "hotel", maybe rental from careless strange individuals? Because everybody else in Ramsgate is so lovely!
