This year marked my fourth stay at this hotel since 2019. I return to Madrid every two years or so, and this was always my preferred hotel. Unfortunately, after my stay on August 18, I will not be returning. The hotel has become far too commercial. During summer, the pool closes to hotel guests at 7pm so outside visitors can book the area. Even during the day, hotel guests are clearly given less priority. The guest chairs were mostly in the shade, while the chairs in the sun were reserved for “VIP” outside guests. Although the area was completely empty, I was told I could not use a chair unless I paid an additional €100. This was never mentioned at check-in, and I found it extremely disappointing that a paying hotel guest and returning customer could not use an empty chair while outside visitors received priority. I complained to the manager,*** but unfortunately felt that my concerns were simply dismissed. The pool used to be one of the reasons I loved staying here, but the experience now feels overly commercial and has completely changed the atmosphere.

We arrived to find an immaculate room with strong air conditioning (which could easily be turned off). The staff was very friendly and happy to offer suggestions on ways to experience the vibrant cultural scene of the surrounding neighborhood.
