    Check-in felt a bit perfunctory, no welcome to the hotel and and no information given other than our room number. We had booked a junior suite which had a separate bedroom and living room, each with its own balcony with views towards Aleciras. A complimentary bottle of cava was waiting for us in an ice bucket in the room, which was a nice touch. The bed was comfortable, but the duvet provided was a bit too warm for the time of year. The Wifi speed was fine, but a spare socket near the desk would have been useful (strange there was none here, given the profusion of sockets on either side of the bed!) We had dinner in Alfred's, the hotel restaurant. A salmon tartare starter was priced at £19.00, but was not as good as one we'd had the day before in a restaurant in Seville for €8. My duck (£25) was served just luke-warm and slightly overcooked. My wife's sea bream was fine, but overall we felt the meal was over-priced, yet under-delivered. £35 for a bottle of albarino in a very low tax area also seemed a bit on the high side. Breakfast was OK, although the option to order eggs cooked to preference appears to have been withdrawn. The staff in the restaurant and bar were good, but again on check-out, we found the staff to be rather detached. All in all this appears to be a hotel that rests too much on its laurels.

    Being that it was Christmas and town was very slow it was an enjoyable stay and the hotel was very nice.

    Great choice for our first visit to Gibraltar. The hotel has clearly had some investment with even more to come! (The addition of a gym will be a great plus.) Pool area is particularly serene and where we spent a lot of our time. Staff were fantastically helpful (but at time could probably do with a few more!) Steep climb back to the hotel didn’t bother me but some might find it a challenge. Would definitely come back.

    This place has probably seen better days. Extremely overpriced for what it offers. The only thing that is exceptional are the views. Everything else feels like a disappointment. Cleanliness below average (smudged windows, soot on the floor, especially on the balcony). Facilities that have not been renovated since the prime time of this hotel, probably around the times when Princess Diana and John Major visited, whose photos are prominently displayed close to the lobby, along with other high profile guests from old times. Staff is condescending and seems overworked. Overall, not worth it, try another place if you can.
