River and Roots Resort

Highly recommend had my one of the best stay here nice cosy environment with exceptional view from hill top no disturbances at all staff and the owner was kind enough nicely cooperative and the food was exceptional

I went through a long list of resorts around Dehradun before we settled on River and Roots, and it turned out to be the right call. Worth knowing before you go: the road leading up to the property is steep. The team handles it for you though. They call ahead and arrange a meeting point, and then they drive your car up the rest of the way. What sets this place apart is where it sits. Not a single commercial building in sight. Just the valley dropping away below you, a river cutting through it, mountains wrapped around every side, and greenery everywhere you look. All of that was visible straight from our balcony. Between India and the US, I've stayed in plenty of places, and none of them have put me this close to nature on the property itself. I could actually feel myself healing while we were there. The rooms were super clean, and anything we asked for showed up fast, including a phone charger I'd left behind at home. Nothing felt like a chore for the staff; they genuinely wanted us to feel at home. The owner himself took us around the grounds and pointed out the rare plants growing there. His love for the place is obvious. The food deserves a mention too, cooked fresh once we ordered, and genuinely delicious. We'll surely be coming back.

Very good hospitality and staff behavior is very good

Our stay at River & Roots in Dehradun was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless and welcoming. The property itself is beautifully maintained—cleanliness is clearly a top priority here. Every corner of the resort, from the rooms to the common areas, was spotless and thoughtfully arranged, which made our stay incredibly comfortable. The views are absolutely stunning. Surrounded by nature, the resort offers a peaceful escape with scenic landscapes that make you want to slow down and truly enjoy the moment. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the hospitality. The host and staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. A special mention to the host, whose dedication genuinely impressed us—since the final stretch to the resort includes an incline of around 100 meters, he personally helped by driving our car up to the property. That level of care and commitment is rare and deeply appreciated. Overall, River & Roots is a perfect blend of comfort, natural beauty, and outstanding service. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene and well-cared-for getaway in Dehradun.
