Resort Tava'e

I had such a wonderful stay here, and I honestly cannot thank the staff enough for making my trip so special. I didn’t even know that the hotel offered an airport transfer, so I was genuinely surprised when they came to pick me up at the airport. They also prepared a beautiful flower lei to welcome me, which was such a lovely touch. Every staff member at the hotel was incredibly warm, friendly, thoughtful and helpful. One of the lovely ladies even helped me carry my luggage all the way to my room. Everyone always had a smile on their face and was willing to offer help whenever I needed it. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It had everything I needed, including air conditioning, a fan, a microwave, a fridge and various everyday essentials. There was even a bottle of milk provided in the fridge, which was such a nice little detail. The bed was also very soft and comfortable. I especially loved the layout of the room. There was a door at both the front and the back of the room. One side opened towards the swimming pools, restaurant and beach, while the other side led towards the parking area and reception. There are two swimming pools, one with a depth of 1.1m and another 1.8m, so you can choose whichever suits you. The staff were also incredibly helpful with activities. One of the ladies helped me book the Tuesday buffet and show. The hotel provides complimentary paddleboards, kayaks, life jackets and some snorkeling equipment. When I was struggling to move a kayak by myself, a lifeguard noticed and immediately came over to help me. He even kept my room key safe for me while I was out on the water. I really appreciated that. There is also a restaurant at the hotel, which made dining very convenient. The staff recommended making a dinner reservation in advance, and I simply called the restaurant from the phone in my room to make a booking. And there was even a cute little cat! It came into my room, had a little look around as if it was doing an inspection, and then casually left. 🐈 What touched me the most was how genuinely kind everyone was. After travelling to so many cities and several countries, I can honestly say that the people working here are some of the friendliest and kindest people I have ever met. I am truly grateful for the warmth and care they showed me throughout my stay. They even took me back to the airport when it was time for me to leave. I chose Aitutaki as the destination for my graduation trip, and everything about this place made me incredibly happy. It was one of the rare moments in my life when I felt so peaceful, relaxed and genuinely happy. I was truly touched by this experience. Thank you so much to everyone at the hotel for making my graduation trip so memorable. If I ever come back to Aitutaki, I would absolutely choose to stay here again. ❤️🌺

Resort Tava’e has plenty going for it, and other guests we spoke to absolutely loved it. However, it wasn’t quite the right fit for us, as we tend to prefer accommodation with more character and an authentic island feel rather than something shiny and new. The rooms were clean, although a little sparse, and the layout meant each room looked directly into another, across the pool. The staff were warm, welcoming and helpful, and the facilities were very well maintained. There are two exceptionally clean pools, plus good-quality kayaks, paddleboards and snorkelling gear available for guests to use free of charge. We enjoyed the restaurant food overall, although breakfast could be improved. Wine was surprisingly well priced! The location is also very convenient, with several other dining options nearby, which is relatively unusual in Aitutaki. It’s a modern, well-maintained resort with excellent staff and facilities, and would suit many travellers. For us personally, it just lacked some of the character and atmosphere we look for in an island stay.

What can I say - Tava’e made our Aitutaki stay extra memorable! Everyone we met were super nice and friendly. We felt safe even at night. Kudos to the hotel staff! We will definitely come back! 20 out of 10!!!

A very family-friendly environment with well-maintained facilities. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The beach and reef were absolutely amazing, offering excellent snorkeling and a variety of water activities.
