    For us, the location of the hotel was perfect. The port is ideal as a starting point for boat tours. During our first stay, we only booked overnight stays and breakfast, which we consider ideal. During our 2nd stay we booked dinner, we would not recommend that. We ate much better in the restaurants around us.

    We enjoyed our 2-night stay at Hotel Admiral in Opatija. The hotel has been nicely renovated and offers great pool and spa facilities - unfortunately had no beach connection though. Breakfast and dinner had plenty of tasty choices. A few points to note: parking in the area is terrible— street parking is hard to find, costs €25 per day, and can require a long walk with luggage, as the hotel has fewer parking spots than guest rooms (we couldn’t get one). Our non-smoking room was a bit smoky, likely because of previous guest smoking in the balcony and the fact that the balcony faced the sea promenade and the restaurant terrace, where smoking is allowed — the smoke drifted up into our windows. The air conditioning only worked well on strength 3, which was too strong for us, so we tried to use the window for "fresh" air. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with great facilities, but some practical aspects could be improved.
