    If you are looking at staying uptown New York, you should avoid any street beyond the Upper West Side. The Radio One Hotel in Harlem doesn’t feel very safe in terms of the crowd around the hotel particularly if coming back late in the night. There are no great eating joints or restaurants nearby. The hotel doesn’t provide basic amenities like a hot water kettle etc. In the room. They take a very high security deposit fee of USD 500 which is refundable but still a very high amount even though our room was fully prepaid. The rooms don’t feel very clean and we took the bigger suite room which has a typical smell coz of the washroom right in the centre of the room and perhaps like of proper ventilation. There is no laundary facility at all in the hotel which is quite a big negative. Overall this is a completely avoidable property.

    I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel. After checking in and going to the room, I realized within less than 15 minutes that the accommodations were not what I expected or needed. As a travel nurse, certain basic amenities are important for me to be comfortable during my stay. Despite leaving within 15 minutes and not using the room, the hotel refused to refund my money.
