The location of this hotel is excellent. Area is quiet and the smoke-free rooms are actually smoke-free. The water is very hot and the bed was clean and overall comfortable. Vending machines worked correctly and the desk staff was exceptionally friendly. Although the hotel score card in the lobby is scored at 100, i did see mold around the edges of the bathtub on the caulk, and the mirror overhead lightbulb was not working. The carpet showed visible traffic stains. Room 210, second floor. I will not post pics in fairness to the facility in that these items are able to be corrected with minor effort, but i did clearly notice it. Overall, the room was decent and the heat/ac worked great, as did the refrigerator, tv, etc. Breakfast is offered and is well stocked, and the dining area is well maintained by the staff.

For the price that we paid during high season, I am clearly disappointed in our stay at Quality Inn because the hotel needs a total makeover. The hallway and room carpeting, curtains, the whole bathroom, sink, and even the faulty hairdryer are old and worn. The bathtub and shower curtain have mold stains on them. The baseboard in the room is coming off in two different places and I do believe that was where insects were coming from. I had to stomp on a couple of bugs myself. The elevator needs to be cleaned each day. New paint all over the hotel is going to make the facility look like it belongs to Gulf Shores. The good things about this hotel is the staff. They are very friendly and accommodating people. The room was relatively clean in spite of the age of the facility. Being close to everything in Gulf Shores is also a plus. Overall, as long as the facility gets a good remodel, it should become a great hotel in a prime and safe location.

Decided to stay an extra night at the beach. The location and price was great. Good sz rooms and clean. Will definitely stay again when on the area. Safe area and free breakfast.
