Quality Inn & Suites Florence - Cincinnati South

As always no issues

I rarely leave a negative review but this was an exception. Kiosk check-in was uncomfortable, especially with a crowd of guest sitting right next to the Kiosk. I had reserved two rooms, a double twin and a king. After I asked the crowd to stop talking so I could talk to the man on the Kiosk, he told me that the king-bed room I had reserved wasn’t available. Would I accept a queen-bed? I said no and he said he would have to talk to on-site staff. (All staff, btw, were polite and respectful.). Eventually a worker showed up and said he would check to see if a room was available. In the meantime the shift manager showed up and apologized for being away from the desk. We were taken to the room and it was clean and the king bed was very comfortable. I plugged in the fridge and put our water and juice in it. I turned on the A/C and sat on the bed to relax with some TV. The TV was stuck on one channel with the volume stuck too low to hear. It wasn’t getting any cooler so I checked the A/C and it wasn’t blowing cold. I decided to check the fridge and it wasn’t getting cold. It was 10pm and so we decided to just wait and report things in the morning. I reported the A/C, fridge, and TV to the same manager from the night before, and told her that we would be gone all day so they would have all day to fix the problems. She said she would take care of it. We left at 8:30am and returned at 5pm. Same manager told us on the way in that all problems should be fixed. We went to the room. The A/C was on 66 and the room was at least 78. The fridge had been replaced and was working. I turned on the TV and it was stuck on the same channel with no volume. I reported it to the manager and she promised to come up herself to verify and to get the problems fixed. She never showed up. A worker turned up and played with three different remotes saying repeatedly that the problem was universal remotes that wouldn’t work with our TV. We put off evening activities waiting the for the manager or repair people to show up. No one else showed up. We finally went to bed in our hot room at 11pm. I saw the manager again the next morning. I told her that the A/C and TV had not been fixed. She said that she would get it fixed today. I told her that we were leaving today. She apologized. As we were leaving, she sought us out and said she would ask Quality Inn to refund part our cost for our troubles. It hasn’t happened yet. Can’t recommend this hotel.

Basic hotel with some age on it, but even my wife was happy with how clean it was. Very good value for the money.

Pool was closed, likely due to not warm enough yet. Fitness room had very few options. Stayed 4 nights. Staff didn’t clean my room or make beds between nights at all unless I asked.
