Our stay was amazing. The dinner and breakfast were excellent, the rooms were spotless and cleaned promptly every day, and the staff were warm, friendly, and always willing to help. The only downside was the Kids’ Club policy, which was neither clear nor consistently applied. On our first night, the Kids’ Club happily looked after our 2-year-old and 5-year-old for about two hours while my wife and I enjoyed dinner. However, on the second night, we were told that our 2-year-old could no longer be accommodated because the club only accepts children over the age of five. We had travelled all the way from Pretoria, and at no point before our arrival was this age restriction made clear. It was not stated on the website, during the booking process, or in the indemnity form. If this policy exists, it should be clearly communicated upfront and applied consistently to avoid confusion and disappointment for families planning their stay. Overall, despite this issue, we had a wonderful experience and would recommend the hotel.

The hotel was great. Lots of activities and they cater well for young children. Really enjoyed sitting in the lounges next to the fire place in the evenings. It would be nice to have more options for dinner as guests are restricted to the dinner buffet. It would be good if guests could still order off the a al carte.

The location of this facility is amazing, but there were a few things that turned the experience sour: 1. Being charged R60 for a beer seems excessive for a South African. 2. The buffet dinner cost R250, for that price there were only 3 vegetable sides, 2 of them were carbohydrate based. The lamb was very dry and the roast potatoes were so salty that we couldn't eat them. The tiramisu was inedible and the cream on the doughnuts was sour. We also heard a table next to us send a milkshake back because it was sour. 3. We ordered a breakfast pack which wasn't ready when we needed it and contained burnt toasted sandwiches. 4. Not a biggie but the tea and milk sachets available in the room were not replenished after the first night. For the cost of the room I wouldn't think 2 tea bags and 2 sachets of milk would be a big ask. 5. The hot water didn't seem to work in the showers. We were told to run the shower for 15 mins to get hot water. 6. The staff were very friendly and tried to be helpful but didn't seem clear on their operational processes e.g. it took a while to check out as the person on reception couldn't find the account and then it was the incorrect one. Such a pity as the location is beautiful and so close to many walking trails in the burg.
