Premier Inn Fort William

Surely I would rate our stay at Premier Inn Fort William among the worst experiences, and we are saying this after widely traveling across the globe. To start, the hotel has an apology for a reception. With strict denial of early check in, they have all of 2 chairs for guests to wait, or stand or wander around. No rest rooms in the waiting area. The hotel is laid out length wise across 52 rooms on each floor in a row. If you happen to get room 50, which we did, you have to carry your own bags across 25 rooms, logging 150 yards on a heavily carpeted aisle, designed to test your strength if you wish to roll a heavy bag over it. There are steps on the way, no ramp, to give you the real feel of an obstacle course. Once you trudge into the room you discover it has no air conditioning, and at 27 degrees, following your cardio, you get the Sauna experience. A service card in the room offers a modest food menu, and when you want to order the cooler, you realise there is no phone. Add to that no fridge, no wardrobe, no toiletries, no water bottles for a room that you paid 220 pounds. The belittling experience is topped by extremely unfriendly, rude and intimating behaviour by the front staff. The checkin starts with an interrogation asking in sequence your name, your surname, your nationality, your stay duration to confirm your credentials, not relying on your app booking information or your document ID. One of the male staff members issued us a formal 'first warning', for inadvertently stepping out of the exit near our room at on the far end of the aisle , which according to him was a restricted fire exit. When asked, how will a guest know about the restriction, he sternly advised to go through the terms and conditions of the stay. To be sure there are no such terms provided either in the room, or anywhere else that one could access. The checkout was equally rude. A request for a taxi was diverted to a phone on the counter, a DIY that answered after multiple attempts with no concern by the guy on the counter. To add, the reception counter is mostly unattended even during the day. One needs to press a button, and wait patiently till someone appears, at least once the staff came without access key to the counter. Fort William is a small town and the hotel is in close proximity to the station, which makes it a first choice. It appears the staff and the local management are using this monopolistic advantage to treat guests with sheer contempt and disdain. This experience, however , takes Premier Inn as a chain to the bottom of my future choices. Possibly this may hold true for others who went through similar treatment.

We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights and in both the rooms we found bed bugs. We promptly reported to Reception team and they moved us to another bedroom room. We also reported issue to Premier Inn guest relations dept expecting they will take corrective action. Room cleaning (housekeeping) should be improved.

Lower budget option. Room was clean but overall condition of the property was “tired”! Close to grocery store and walkway that leads to town center (pedestrian zone)

We booked a triple room for our family of 3. The best thing about the hotel is the location. Its in the city centre and has several restaurants near by and ample parking. The propert was very expensive. We strayed for 2 nights. We were disappointed as we requested our room to be cleaned. We spoke to house keeping, spoke to reception and even put the proper sign. But nothing was done. When we complained they said they only make the beds and clear the dustbins. But even that was not done. For the price we paid this was disappointing.
