    TL;DR: Booked and paid for a two-bedroom villa through Agoda. Upon check-in we were given a villa with one of the two bedrooms locked, without any communication. Prior to checking in we were pressured to stay in our current room for our “convenience”, even though it was a different room price and class grade. It took escalating through Agoda to receive the room the hotel had already accepted payment for, and management’s handling along the way broke trust to a degree that no eventual correction made up for. We extended our stay at Premadhan Cottage Canggu and upgraded through Agoda to a two-bedroom villa. What should have been a simple room transition turned into one of the most disappointing and uncomfortable hospitality experiences we have had. The hotel first encouraged us to remain in our previous lower-category room “for convenience,” despite the fact that we had specifically booked and paid for a two-bedroom villa. After we insisted on receiving the accommodation we reserved, we were moved into the villa — only to discover that one of the two bedrooms was locked. In effect, we were given access to a one-bedroom villa while being charged for a two-bedroom villa. This was not a small misunderstanding. It was a failure to provide the room category that was confirmed and paid for. The issue was only corrected after we escalated through Agoda, which should never have been necessary. What made the situation worse was the way management handled it. Rather than clearly acknowledging the mistake, they repeatedly framed it as a “miscommunication.” The tone was polite on the surface, but the substance felt evasive, dismissive, and lacking genuine accountability. It felt as though the hotel wanted us to accept less than what we booked while avoiding responsibility for it. It also strongly felt as though dissatisfaction with the Agoda rate was being carried over onto us as guests. If the hotel was unhappy with the price offered through a third-party platform, that is an issue between the hotel and Agoda. It should never be passed on to the customer through resistance, reduced access, or reluctance to honor a confirmed booking. Most troubling was management’s attempt to deflect responsibility by citing a staff member’s alleged illness. Regardless of internal staffing issues, using an employee’s health situation as an explanation — or as a way to make guests feel guilty for asking to receive what they paid for — is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. As someone who has managed a boutique hotel, I understand that small properties face challenges and that mistakes can happen. But hospitality is built on trust, transparency, and accountability. This experience showed the opposite. The handling felt predatory toward guests: polite in presentation, but ultimately designed to minimize the hotel’s responsibility while placing the burden on the customer. The villa itself was comfortable once the issue was finally corrected, but the stay was overshadowed by the lack of honesty, ownership, and proper hospitality. A sincere apology and straightforward accountability would have gone a long way. Instead, we were met with deflection, excuses, and the need to involve Agoda just to receive the room we had already booked and paid for.

    It was my urgent booking and I didn’t look through much except I only knew there’s a hut and a pool with a very friend price. Turned out to be very satisfying. The staffs are all friendly. The welcome banana cake was a cute touch. My room also got a rice field view. Everything went beyond my expectations. Highly recommended.

    Property is rustic, feels very Balinese. It’s located away from the hustle and bustle but walkable if you don’t mind walking through the traffic chaos and dust. There’s no TV, phone or power shower so if you need modern luxuries this is not the place for you. Has good WiFi, air con and hot water though. Interestingly the door lock is a wooden slat (if you lock from the inside) and a padlock (if you lock from the outside). The bathroom ceiling leaked during heavy rain but I think that may have been deliberate as it only leaked in the shower area (staff called it a “nature themed bathroom”). Very “close to nature” with chickens and dogs occasionally coming up to your property. Staff are very helpful and nice. Lovely breakfast by the pool every morning (didn’t try the pool as I didn’t want to share with the bugs I saw congregating around). Nice place, but not for everyone, especially those used to modern, branded properties.

    Place is nice in the morning. Nice interior and design but I wouldn't recommend because I wasn't comfortable. The insects were falling from the roof like small bugs and I had a lot of insects bites the whole time. The net that was placed in the outdoor shower has a lot of holes so again the insects are coming in
