    If you like a quiet budget friendly backpackers digs in the down season, now is the time to stay at Port Douglas backpackers whilst its only at about 15 percent capacity. Clean and spacious with basic kitchen and food storage facilities. Hot showers and clean toilets. Swimming pool with a deep end where you can dive into and flotation aids. A small gym, pool table and table tennis table to use. Laundry facilities at 5AUD per wash/dry. Plenty of space to hang clothes to dry. Ample outdoor and indoor seating and socialising areas. TV room with Netflix, amazon etc. Comfortable beds, and some sunscreen and insect repellent provided at reception. Licensed premises with CCTV in all communal areas and bar serving reasonably priced drinks at certain hours. Reception and housekeeping staff are friendly and helpful. A very laid back and chill vibe at the hostel with space to do stretching and yoga. You will need to pay a deposit for a crockery set if you plan to cook/prepare your own food as well as pay a key card deposit. If you show your key card at some local bars and eateries and go during happy hours, you will get great offers and be eligible for discounts. Good location, just a block away from the villages main street (Macrossan st) where most of your cafes and restaurants and gelato bars are located, as well as the main shipping precinct including pharmacies, Coles, Liquor store and Kmart. A very good experience all in all, just be wary of the mosquitos and sand flies, the wet and humid weather, and the quietness and emptiness of the place at times as its down season.

    The reception girls are great! 😊 very nice and they inform you everything from the beginning. like all hostels the common areas often leave a lot to talk about🤷🏻‍♀️, but every day the cleaning girls do a good job also the people how maintain the hostel !! 🫶🏻🫶🏻 Today they moved me to another room and it's amazing 🙌🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 !the vibe of the hostel is super chill 😎🌴. If you are planning a short stay it is a good place to stay.🐚🌞🌴🦋 Consider bringing coins to use the washing machines 💸🙂

    It is good if you like typical hostels with lots of people, noisy. The kitchen is really small. Rooms are big enough.
