Such a gem to find! My adult daughter and 4 year old son were doing a NP loop around NM and stayed at Palace before setting off to Gila. We were very surprised with how much room we had. The staff were very accommodating (we arrived after lobby was closed as we were driving in from Carlsbad), the location was perfect, and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

This hotel was built in 1882 so be prepared for creaks, doors that don't shut perfectly, limited plug ins, and no frills bathrooms. With that in mind, it is a charming hotel that the management works hard at making you feel welcomed and comfortable. I loved looking at the old pictures, furniture, and visiting with other guests while playing Chinese Checkers. It was also fun to walk around historic downtown and eat good food at nearby diners.

This is a great place to stay if you’re into the history of the area. The staff was wonderful and the hotel is a cool old building. The larger rooms are definitely more comfortable for longer stays. The location was great for exploring the downtown area.
