    Would definitely recommend this place. Very nice Japanese Hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. James speaks English and is really helpful. Great place to try a Japanese Hotel with an onsen.

    A clean and new hotel where the room is spacious and modern. Amenities within the room is aplenty. There is also a spa/public bath available for 4 hours in the morning and 10 hours from 3pm. Situated close to the main street where restaurants are lined, it also has a bus stop nearby and is a 15-minute walk from Matsue Station. Staff were most helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend Ohashikan if you're staying in Matsue.

    I’m most impressed with our room at Ohashikan which provides a perfect blend of Japanese aesthetic and modern comfort with great beds, great amenities and great views of Ohashi bridge and Shinji lake beyond. (It provided the perfect cocoon during the stormy days when we stayed!) The owner and all staff are very helpful and professional. The ryokan-style food is fresh and delicious. The public onsen is spotlessly clean. It’s located in a lovely old neighborhood dotted with nice shops and restaurants, and is within 15 minutes walk to Matsue castle. It’s also on direct bus routes to both JR Matsue station and Matsue Shinjiko Onsen station, both key transport nodes to Izumo Taisha and Adachi Museum of Art - two must-visit spots in the region. Overall, one of the best places I’ve stayed in Japan.

    Truly exceeded our expectations. Superb accommodations with excellent meals for breakfast and dinner. Get a river/lake view room for wonderful views of the sunset over Lake Shinji. Decor in public spaces was awesome, and the staff provided exceptional hospitality.
