황당한 일을 겪었다. 예약이 되어 은행 계좌에서 돈까지 지불 되었는데, 프론트데스크에서 전화가 왔다. 예약에 오류가 생겼으니 아고다에 전화해서 예약을 취소하란다. 만실이라 빈 방이 없다는 설명이었다. 그동안 숱하게 아고다를 이용했지만 이런 적은 처음이었다. 쉽게 수긍이 되지 않아 시비를 가리고자 했더니, 호텔의 잘못이 아니라며, 손님이 아고다에 직접 연락해서 취소하지 않으면 돈만 날리게 될 거라는 반협박(?)이었다. 매우 불쾌했다. 손님 입장에서 생각해 보면, 이건 호텔과 아고다 간의 문제이니 호텔이 나서서 해결해야 할 사안이 아닌가? 약간의 실랑이가 있었고, 예약 취소의 어려움과 늦은 시간에 다른 곳을 찾기도 귀찮아서, 10,000원을 더 지불하면 업그레이드 된 방을 주겠다는 제안을 받아들일 수 밖에 없었다. 호텔측에서는 선심 쓰는 척 했지만, 손님 입장에서는 불필요한 지출이니 전혀 반가워 할 일이 아니었다. 배정 받은 방에 들어서니 담배냄새가 확 풍겼다. 방을 바꿔달라고 했더니, 바꿔줄 방이 없단다. 이것을 악연이라고 해야 하나? 낚시에 걸린 물고기처럼 다른 도리가 없었다. 호텔의 고객 응대에 아쉬움이 있어서 이 후기를 남긴다. 어쩌면, 단돈 10,000원 때문에 기분을 잡친 고객의 불평일 수 있다. 이 해프닝의 진실은 무엇이었을까? I had a ridiculous experience. My reservation was confirmed and the payment had already been made from my bank account, but then I got a call from the front desk. They said there was an error in the booking and told me to call Agoda to cancel it. They explained that the hotel was fully booked and there were no available rooms. I’ve used Agoda many times before, but this was the first time something like this happened. I couldn’t accept it easily and tried to figure out whose fault it was, but they insisted it wasn’t the hotel’s mistake. They even half-threatened me, saying that if I didn’t contact Agoda myself to cancel, I would lose my money. I felt very upset. From a guest’s point of view, this is clearly an issue between the hotel and Agoda, so shouldn’t the hotel take care of it? After a bit of argument, and since it was late and I didn’t want the trouble of finding another place, I had no choice but to accept their offer — to pay an extra 10,000 won for an upgraded room. The hotel acted as if they were doing me a favor, but from my perspective, it was just an unnecessary expense and nothing to be happy about. When I entered the assigned room, the smell of cigarette smoke hit me right away. I asked to change the room, but they said there were no other rooms available. Should I call this bad luck? Like a fish caught on a hook, I had no way out. I’m leaving this review because I was disappointed with how the hotel handled the situation. Maybe this is just a customer’s complaint over a mere 10,000 won, but I can’t help wondering — what was the real story behind this whole incident?
