My wife and I spend our 30th Wedding Anniversary in Newport RI. I had read all of the reviews prior to booking The Newport Harbor Island Resort. The resort has been renovated, and the views, restaurants, facilities and rooms are very nice. The location is ideal to access Newport. Trolley pickup, dining and shopping are all within walking distance. Reservation staff are very helpful and give good suggestion on how to cost effectively see what you want to see. Some of the reviews I had read addressed views and room decor. We found while the rooms are small, they were very nicely furnished, and the water views are great. The walls are not well insulated, and you can hear the adjoining occupants if they are loud, but that's any hotel. We were not there for a conference, but their conference facilities look great. We were there Oct. 18-23 so the price to value was excellent. All in all, a great place to stay to see Newport, visit the mansions, do the cliff walk, dine or just relax. We would stay there again if going to Newport.

Very expensive $ 7 for a slice of bread limited menu and poor cooking. The shower had nothing to hold on to. A small room overstuffed with pillows.
However a beautiful view of the ocean.
