The hotel staff are very helpful and the Indian style breakfast very nice , good cook served me in my room for 4 nights I stayed, distance to mahabodhi temple is abt 1 km 20-25 walk . Hot shower is good but took sometime to wait for heated water as usual in India. No lift so you need to walk up to your room , don’t worry staff help you carry your luggage. Hairdryer in my room not working but they fitted it immediately. And you must prepare cash to pay for your room as they don’t accept international credit cards, only Indian cards accepted.( hotel should mention in Agoda so we foreigners could prepare Indian currency before arrival. ) I end up paid more in our currency at hotel as exchange rate is much lower .overall warm stay in new hotel silva. Recommended.

I stayed at New Shiva Hotel from December 11 to 13, 2024. I arrived at the hotel late at night, in the cold weather. I had requested the hotel to send a car to pick me up from the train station for convenience and safety during the late hours, and I also requested them to prepare dinner for me. Although the hotel's kitchen had already closed, they went out of their way to accommodate me, which was a very impressive experience. All the staff were friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service from check-in to check-out. They were always ready to offer helpful advice and answer any questions I had. Additionally, the room service was timely, and the food was delicious, making me feel comfortable and well taken care of. The room was clean, comfortable, and simply decorated but well-equipped. The hotel is also in an excellent location, with easy access to the major tourist attractions in Varanasi, not far from the hotel. Importantly, the hotel has staff on security 24 hours a day, and there is an ATM within the hotel premises, which makes services even more convenient. There is also a café nearby, perfect for relaxing or finding something to eat. Areas for Improvement: Despite the many positive aspects, there were a few issues that could be improved. For example, the water in the bathroom was not warm, and the Wi-Fi occasionally did not work well. However, these issues did not cause much of an inconvenience, as they are common in many hotels. What impressed me the most was how quickly and thoroughly the staff responded when I reported these issues. It made me feel valued and appreciated by the hotel. Additionally, while the blankets in the room were clean, they could benefit from a little extra cleaning for perfection. Overall, New Shiva Hotel is a great place to stay, with excellent service and a convenient location, making it ideal for a relaxing stay in Varanasi.
