We booked a Premium Room but were assigned to an older building with a run-down terrace and no outdoor seating provided. The room itself was rather small, basic, and did not feel premium for the price paid, especially when several newly renovated units appeared to be sitting empty during our stay.
The hotel compound is spacious and tranquil, with fresh air, lush surroundings, and the pleasant sound of birds chirping throughout the day. It offers a peaceful retreat away from the city.
Unfortunately, both the breakfast and dinner fell below expectations. The culinary quality was underwhelming, and the prices felt excessive for what was served. As this is essentially the only dining option available within the area, guests have little choice. Once the day-trip visitors leave in the evening, the entire area becomes eerily quiet, resembling a ghost town with very limited activity or food options.
The main advantage of staying here is the convenient access to Mutianyu Great Wall. Hotel guests can be among the first visitors to take the cable car up in the morning and enjoy the Great Wall before the endless waves of day-trip crowds arrive later in the day.
