Movenpick Malatya Hotel

Imagine booking a five-star hotel, only to walk into a room that has not even been properly cleaned. Before arriving, I called the hotel after making my reservation and specifically requested a room on a high floor. This request was completely ignored. In fact, none of the notes or requests I had made regarding my stay seem to have been acknowledged or addressed. I also requested an early check-in and was informed that there would be an additional charge, which I was perfectly happy to pay. However, during the payment process, the hotel attempted to charge me again for an amount that had already been paid when I made the reservation. They also attempted to charge a card that I had not authorized them to use. This triggered suspicious-activity protection from my bank and resulted in my card being blocked. Since it is currently the weekend, I now have no access to that card until Monday, all because of an unnecessary and avoidable payment issue caused by the hotel. Then came the laundry and ironing situation. I am here specifically to attend a wedding, and immediately upon arrival I requested that someone be sent to my room as soon as possible to iron my clothes. I travelled all this way to attend this wedding, so naturally this was extremely important to me. No one came. I eventually fell asleep waiting. After waking up, I called again and once again, nobody came. I then contacted the laundry department directly, was told that someone would be sent, and still nobody arrived. In the end, I actually had to go downstairs myself and ask for the situation to be sorted out. This is supposed to be a five-star hotel. A guest should not have to repeatedly call different departments and then physically go downstairs just to receive such a basic service. I normally have very positive experiences with hotels, but unfortunately, my experience here so far has been nothing short of a disaster. Between the cleanliness of the room, ignored requests, payment issues that resulted in my bank card being blocked, and the complete lack of response regarding a simple ironing request, the service has fallen far below what anyone should expect from a five-star property. I will definitely be filing a formal complaint. Based on my experience so far, I would recommend booking somewhere else. It is simply not worth the money. If I could give the service zero stars, I would. Unfortunately, the lowest rating available is one star.
