Motel 6 Albert Lea, MN

Pretty worn out motel 6. Beds were not comfortable. I guess okay for the money traveling and a Friday night during the summer

I understand this is a budget hotel but as a business you have to do better. Staff was friendly. However the rooms are a disaster. When you first enter the hallway to find your room you get this eerie feeling of caution. The hallway is poorly lit and has old and worn carpet, not to mention the odor. Upon entering my room, I was greeted by a sticky and cheap veneer(maybe vinyl)wood floo that was barely gripping its sub-flooring. When I flipped on the light, I felt like I was in a cave, the lights were a very dim yellow- the light fixture was old and dingy and scratched up. I tried to get some relief by opening the curtain only to be greeted by a bumper of a car staring me in the face blocking out a great amount of the outside lighting. Now the bed and bedding-Old worn out cover blanket, the bed felt springy , the offer of support was non-existent. The pillows were different oddball shaped and had different firmness. The real horror lay in the bathroom. There were traces off previous guests hair scattered about the sink, toilet and bathtub! The toilet seat was chipped, the floor looked like it has only seen a push mop for god knows how long- the dirt was shoved to the wall discoloring the caulking and wedged all over in the corners. Shower, yeah, I braved a shower, i was in the shower for about 7min before it turned ice cold on me. During my stay I made an attempt to call their customer service dept(corporate) making a request for them to extend the courtesy of transferring the rest of my reservation to one of their other hotels in the area(they owned several within blocks of each other). My request was denied because the representative claimed they couldn't get authorization for that. Lesson learned, I will no longer attempt to use any of Wyndams brand of hotels.
