MJ Resort

MJ Resort is quite far from Jeju City, but for us, the beautiful oceanfront location made the journey worth it. We stayed here during our first trip to Jeju and had a very pleasant and memorable experience. We arrived in the late afternoon and decided to stay in. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The bedding was clean and fresh, and the room had a pleasant smell. I also really liked the shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided — they smelled so nice! There was a shared washing machine and dryer, with detergent provided. This was extremely useful for us as a family. We were able to wash and dry all our clothes before leaving Jeju, which made travelling home much easier. The kitchenette was another bonus. I brought pasta and some canned food, so we could easily prepare our own dinner on the first night. ❤️ Wonderful and Kind Staff The staff were one of the best parts of our stay. The older gentleman at the entrance helped us carry our luggage up to the second floor and always greeted guests warmly. Another gentleman wearing glasses was also very friendly and helpful at the counter. The lady manning the front counter and the male staff manning the café were the only two staff members we met who could speak English, which made communication much easier for us. I especially want to thank the lady at the counter. She was very kind and helpful whenever we needed assistance. She even helped us call a taxi at the last minute for our day trip. Although not everyone speaks English, every staff member we met was polite, courteous and willing to help. Even with the language barrier, they always tried their best to communicate with us. One evening, the café was already closed when we went downstairs. We sat outside the café enjoying the surroundings, and an older lady kindly offered us freshly cut watermelon and chocolate-filled biscuits. We really appreciated this thoughtful gesture. ❤️ 🍳 Breakfast Breakfast had a good selection of Korean and Western food — bread, salad, fruits, cereal, rice, sunny-side-up eggs, omelette, kimchi and more. There were also options for people who are vegetarian or have other dietary restrictions. Coffee and tea could be prepared by the staff, and there was plenty of fresh juice. The breakfast staff were always pleasant, smiling and greeting guests. They worked quietly and diligently, and we really appreciated how polite and attentive they were. 🌊 The Ocean View Is Amazing The best thing about MJ Resort is definitely the sea view and peaceful surroundings. With the window open, we could hear the waves. The wind can be VERY strong, and it can get quite cold, but we actually loved the fresh sea breeze. We were lucky enough to see sunrise and sunset every day. Sitting on the swing or chairs on the front lawn, listening to the waves and feeling the wind was so peaceful and therapeutic. I could honestly sit there and watch the sea forever. 🤿 Haenyeo Experience One of the reasons I chose this area was because I really wanted to see the haenyeo. Unfortunately, during our stay the sea conditions were not always suitable because of the strong wind and tide, so we didn't get to see them diving in front of the resort. But on our third day, we got lucky! I noticed the hut near the port, right next to my room (Room 11), was open. Inside were the real haenyeo equipment, nets and buoys. There was also a group of elderly ladies sitting outside. I asked permission to enter and take photos and videos, and they kindly allowed me. We couldn't really communicate because of the language barrier — we were like chicken and duck! 😂 — but we still had such a lovely time sitting together and laughing. They were so friendly and cute. It became one of the most memorable moments of our Jeju trip. ⛰️ Things to Do Nearby I also recommend visiting Seongsan Ilchulbong. The hike was beautiful, although be prepared for VERY strong winds! 😂 The wind was so strong that it felt like it could literally blow your skirt up, so

The place is good. We feel relaxed staying here. The room is extremely clean. And the staff are friendly ad helpful

Magical Jeju lives up to its name. The views are incredible and the staff are the happiest and friendliest people you will meet in Korea. Light small breakfast provided was a nice added value. A Peaceful and serene hotel. We booked 2 days at another hotel and left there to come back to MJ to stay the remaining two nights in Jeju, a pity they only had 1 night available for us. The rooms are slightly dated and could really use 2 towel hooks on the cupboard doors. That does not take away from the hotel overall and we WILL BE BACK!
