    This accommodation is the only option available in close proximity to Ban Gioc Falls. While we appreciated its cleanliness based on reviews, our check-in experience was less than welcoming. We arrived early in the morning, and the female staff member seemed skeptical about our booking. Despite showing her the confirmation email and payment receipt, she took a picture of them and made a phone call, speaking in her native language. After a few minutes, she informed us that we needed to pay 200,000 VND for immigration registration, citing the shared nature of the location between two countries, as if we hadn't done our research. We currently work in Vietnam and had no intention of crossing the border, but she insisted it was their protocol. After some back-and-forth, we reluctantly paid the fee, as it appeared we wouldn't be allowed to check in otherwise. Once we settled the payment, she allowed us to check in early at no extra charge, leading us to believe that the fee was part of our payment. Additionally, we inquired about renting a motorbike to explore the town, but she simply replied, “no.” When we asked if she knew someone we could rent from, her response remained the same, showing a lack of helpfulness. In contrast, the male staff member was much more accommodating and addressed our requests promptly. He even contacted a motorbike rental shop on our behalf. We requested an extra blanket, which he provided within half an hour. However, there was no light in the toilet, making it quite dark, so we asked for a fix. Instead, they decided to transfer us to a different room, which was smaller but warmer. The initial room was larger compared to the one we were moved to. We also asked if they could book a bus back to Hanoi. Initially, the older lady was impatient and made the explanation complicated. We then asked the male staff member to confirm if they could book the bus for us, and he assured us that they could. We appreciated his assistance. For those planning to book in the future, be wary of extra charges and be prepared for potential language barriers.
