    We booked Midland Hotel in Mwanza City Tanzania through Priceline/Agoda platform and received an official booking confirmation and receipt. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the hotel, the management refused to honor our Priceline/Agoda reservation. We were told that the hotel does not currently have an Agoda account and therefore could not accept the booking. There was conflicting information among the hotel staff. One staff told us that the hotel had previously used an Agoda account but no longer had the login credentials. A second staff member also acknowledged that the hotel had previously worked with online booking platforms. Because the hotel would not recognize our confirmed Agoda booking, we were forced to pay the hotel separately in cash in order to stay there. We therefore had to make a second payment for the same accommodation. We have both the Agoda booking confirmation and the hotel receipt for the additional cash payment. Our main concern is that the hotel was available and bookable through Agoda even though the management told us they were not currently operating through Agoda. We hope Agoda investigates this matter and assists us in obtaining a refund for the original booking that the hotel refused to honor. Important: If you book this hotel through an online platform, we recommend confirming directly with the hotel beforehand that they will recognize and honor the reservation.
